We are looking for an experienced HR Professional to join our fast-growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with the management team to create and implement the Human Resources policies and procedures, and process payroll for our organization. An Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required. However, three years of full-time experience in any functional areas of Human Resources can be substituted. The ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment is crucial. Candidates must have advanced technical skills, including Microsoft Office. Excellent people skills, professional writing skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are necessary for success in this position. Our office offers a team environment with a competitive salary, and Monday to Friday daytime hours.

Essential Duties:

  • Administer time and attendance system monitoring and tracking employee attendance and creating corrective actions, communicating with supervision and employees to ensure timely compliance.
  • Compile and transmit payroll to Paylocity (such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, withholdings, earnings, and deductions) and enter data, post wages, reconcile errors and maintain payroll records.
  • Ensures all employees are paid on time and verify paychecks are accurate.
  • Reconcile benefit deductions from payroll with benefit invoices. Verify missed deductions from employees and set up payment arrangements to repay.
  • Implement changes in Paylocity affecting net wages. (Such as garnishments, levy’s, child support orders.)
  • Responsible for onboarding all new hires and provide them with benefit information and standard policies and procedures handbook. (Including I9 verification and collection of other payroll forms.)
  • Assign new employees with company property and get them setup on our cloud based network with support from our off-site IT department.
  • Prepare, organize and keep up to date New Hire Packets.
  • Support recruitment and retention activities for hourly and salaried employees. Create job postings, schedule interview, create job offers, initiate and monitor background checks, maintain recruitment and employment files.
  • Support ongoing training and development activities.
  • Support team building activities and employee communications, for onsite and offsite events.
  • Support areas of HR/Payroll compliance; monthly HR/Payroll reporting, performance management, employment processing, file maintenance and storage.
  • Responsible for supporting HR & Payroll projects; handbook and policy updates, updating job descriptions, apprenticeship program related activities, general benefit administration.
  • Responsible for preparing ad hoc reports and metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company HR policies and practices, as well as compliance to federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate benefit open enrollment with the support of our external benefits account manager.
  • Assist employees with 401k enrollments and withdrawals and work with our external 401k account manager on compliance and annual reports.
  • Ensure positive organizational development by leveraging best practices and management techniques.
  • Ensure all HR policies are in compliance with the Equal Employment Opportunity policies and practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; can substitute up to three years of full-time experience
  • Three years of full-time experience in any of the functional areas of Human Resources (compensation/benefit administration, employee/labor relations, recruitment/selection, employee programs/activities, employee training/development, and general personnel records administration).
  • Must have experience in processing payroll for organization with 50 plus employees
  • Knowledge of Payroll Software, Paylocity Preferred
  • Proficient using a Human Resources Management System
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in all Microsoft Office suite applications (specifically excel)
  • Problem solving skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with ongoing deadlines
  • Analytical mindset and good problem solving skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
