Job description

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of housekeeping services to maintain, clean, and sanitize public areas in the hotel according to established standards. Assists guests whenever possible by providing information as requested.

JOB DUTIES:

• Breakfast Area:

Empty trash containers in the breakfast area as needed. Clean breakfast area thoroughly after breakfast hours.

• Public Areas:

Clean public areas of the hotel, providing touch-up cleaning as necessary throughout the shift. Empty all trash and ashtrays from public spaces. Clean ice machines on each floor. Moping, and vacuuming throughout the hotel including lobby areas, pool/fitness rooms, and common areas on all floors.

Work on additional cleaning projects throughout the hotel on slower days.

• Grounds:

Clean parking lot, sidewalks, and dumpster areas. Empty trash. Keep areas clear of all debris on an ongoing basis.

• Other Areas:
• Completes daily House Person checklist and turns in to supervisor at the end of the day.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Additional Detail:

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:

Requires ability to follow verbal directions. Requires thorough knowledge of cleaning procedures as well as cleaning supplies. Requires ability to work without direct supervision.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Requires knowledge, skill, and mental ability equivalent to completion of 2 years of high school.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in cleaning is helpful, but not required.

PHYSICAL SKILLS: Requires ability to walk and stand during the entire work shift. Requires ability to push vacuum, reach and stretch in routine daily work activities. Requires ability to lift 25 - 35 pounds intermittently during the work day.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Reports to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Cooperates with guest service staff and maintenance.
• Cooperates with all team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
