Open Door is seeking a part-time Housekeeper for its Family Medical Center in Mamaroneck, NY. The Housekeeper will report to the Housekeeping Supervisor.


Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize patient exam rooms, hallways, waiting areas, bathrooms and other areas.
  • Maintain Center by cleaning, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing.
  • Keep supplies ready by restocking housekeeping supplies; notifies supervisor if new supplies are needed.
  • Empty wastebaskets, and transport other trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenish supplies, such as bathroom items.
  • Label and remove infectious waste bags and containers.
  • Maintain furnishings by dusting and polishing furniture, cleaning and polishing glass surfaces.
  • Clean stairways and elevators on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Follow cleaning procedures as outlined in the Housekeeping Procedures Manual.
  • Work cooperatively with the maintenance and housekeeping staff.
  • Appropriately discard hazardous waste from the exam rooms and replenishes sharp containers as needed.
  • If Designated as responsible for Bio Hazardous Waste removal, complete online training and receive certificate prior to completing this task.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Able to read, write and speak English
  • 2 Years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiar with cleaning products and equipment as well as cleaning techniques.
  • Knowledge of Infection Control techniques.
  • Patient and polite and able to interact effectively with other personnel.
  • Capable of understanding and working within departmental operations.
  • Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling climbing, stretching, and possess finger/hand dexterity.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing of supplies and equipment.
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work additional hours if needed
  • Perfect attendance and punctuality
