POSITION SUMMARY:

The House Person, under the direction of the Catering Manager, is responsible for making areas within the Casino complex and/or off-site venues suitable for a function or meeting as requested. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

  • Responsible for the proper placement of tables, chairs and linens.
  • Sets up tables and places linens on table.
  • Ensures areas are clean.
  • Takes down tables and chairs and linens off tables.
  • Sets up audio visual equipment.
  • Maintains audio visual equipment in storage locations.
  • Provides attentive, cheerful, courteous and professional service to all customers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

  • Complies with company and departmental policy and procedures.
  • Attends seminars, classes and training exercises.
  • All other job related duties as assigned.

CONTACTS:

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, Board of Directors and outside vendors/service providers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position medium with lifting of 50 pounds maximum and frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, walking, pushing, pulling, use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision; frequent carrying/lifting, stooping, reaching, manual handling, typing and bending; occasional sitting, climbing, kneeling, crawling and occasional travel. Working conditions include constant exposure to air quality; frequent exposure to extreme heat/cold and dimly lit conditions; occasional exposure to wet/humidity and vibration. Potential hazards include constant exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, chemicals, computer use and equipment; occasional exposure to high exposed places, insecticides/pesticides.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Previous Houseman experience helpful.

Certification/License: Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities. Must have excellent organization skills; organizing work, prioritizing tasks and managing time. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisory personnel, coworkers and the general public. Must maintain confidentiality. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to work extended hours when needed. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Native American preferred.
