The Ginger Man is a specialty beer bar with over 100 beers on draught and in bottles. Knowledge about beer is helpful, but not required. Training is paid and will last 7 days based on experience.

We are looking for an hourly Shift Manager to oversee restaurant operations, including welcoming and serving customers in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager.

Shift Manager responsibilities include delegating tasks to restaurant staff, assisting guests, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. If you have excellent organizational and team management skills and experience in the food industry, wed like to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Delegate tasks to restaurant staff and supervise their performance
• Manage reservations
• Help staff resolve on-the-job challenges
• Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of the shift
• Ensure guest satisfaction and gracefully handle any complaints
• Open or close the restaurant (when responsible for the first or last shift)
• Inform the next Shift Manager about pending tasks
• Report maintenance and training needs

Requirements & Skills

• Proven experience as a Shift Manager or relevant role in a restaurant
• Good knowledge of restaurant operations (like managing reservations and payments)
• Availability to work different shifts, including weekends
• Basic knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
• A customer service approach with the ability to manage complaints with professionalism
• Excellent organizational skills
• Team management abilities

• Combination of tipped and hourly shifts averaging at $20-25 per hour
