General Manager oversees all aspects of property management and hotel operations, including guest relations, sales and marketing, public relations, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, finances, team building, and staff development. General Manager must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate outstanding leadership. The manager must be able to delegate responsibilities, organize complex projects, and establish priorities consistent with hotel objectives and following the company mission statement.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs the role of a true leader, ensuring that each and every section in the company's portal is communicated, understood, achieved, and maintained by hotel staff.
  • Performs each area as outlined by the management company.
  • Creates an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction.
  • Responds timely & professionally to all guest concerns, comments and reviews.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the property and community.
  • Monitors the hotel’s performance by verifying and analyzing the hotel portal, guest satisfaction systems, and financial reports. Follow the Action Plans to correct any challenging area and exceed expectations.
  • Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations using the available tools and apps.
  • Responds promptly to all corporate requests and meet any required deadlines.
  • Executes marketing, sales, and operational activities, producing results that meet or exceed the hotel’s business plan.
  • Understands the government regulations affecting the hotel’s operations, ensuring the hotel is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state, or municipal authority.
  • Deals with the general public, guests, employees, and government officials with tact and courtesy.
  • Accepts full responsibility for managing an activity.
  • Takes an active role in the overall Sales Effort at the property and attends the required Brand and Management Company Training to ensure that we are positioned in the market exceeding our fair share.
  • Be a community philanthropist and supporter.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and functioning correctly.
  • Perform periodical inspections as outlined in your GM checklist.
  • Implement the Manager on Duty program.
  • Additional duties and tasks that will be assigned from time to time by Management Company.
  • Ensue P&L is met at all times.
  • Manage payroll and labor hours for efficient and feasible operations.
  • Respond promptly to charge-backs, and keep and maintain a required backup for quick retrieval when requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior hotel management experience, preferably with IHG, and/or, BW for a minimum of two years, is required.
  • More than average understanding of could based and Microsoft work environments is a must.
  • You will visit banks, community centers, and local businesses often. Therefore a clean driver’s license is also required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,100.00 - $68,000.00 per year
