Playland Summary:
Playland Park, built in the 1920s, is registered as a National Historic Landmark and features approximately 10 historical rides and extensive art-deco historical structures. The 80-acre property has over one mile of waterfront. The Amusement Park 45 rides, a unique Kiddyland zone, arcades, entertainment stage, boardwalk, public beach, Olympic-size pool, an indoor skating rink, and borders a nature preserve and lake. The Park currently is undergoing a $150mm+ joint public private rehabilitation that includes significant infrastructure and building upgrades, new rides, attractions, guest amenities, and 3-5 new restaurants.
Summary / Objective:
This position is a seasonal role assisting and supporting the day-to-day operation for the Group Sales department. Under general supervision, the Group Sales Host/Associate will escort guests, promote sales, and process group bookings as required. Maintain a high standard of customer service with all Group Sales internal and external customers while adhering to all standards and policies of the department and the organization.
- Answer incoming Group Sales telephone lines.
- Assist with processing sales as needed.
- Act as a service ambassador between birthday parties, group picnics and other Park departments.
- Ensure that customers are aware of the full range of products available at the park including special offers, promotions, and different up-sell items.
- Ability to retain information
- Ensure that all customers are clearly made aware of all terms, conditions, and procedures that apply to their group booking.
- Assist customers with general inquiries relating to the various options in the park.
- Provide exceptional customer service and uphold high standards as they relate to courtesy, professional presentation, appearance, and attitude both written and verbal.
- Contribute positively to the sales team culture by developing mutually beneficial working relationships with all team members and park departments.
- All other relevant duties assigned by the Group Sales management team.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections
- Must be able to work a varied of shifts, including mandatory holidays and weekends
- Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment
- Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with customers over the phone.
- Ability to work with various levels of management as well as working with other departments.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
