The Hospitality Assistant will assist in the operations of the community during short term housing operations times including but not limited to: summer camp occupancy, summer conference occupancy and other situations of short-term accommodation and high turnover occupancy. In addition to being a front-line customer service representative for residents/guests, the Hospitality Assistant will ensure all administrative items, unit access items, and in-unit amenities are in place to ensure a welcoming and smooth check in and checkout process.

Critical Duties:
  • Provide unparalleled customer service and respect for residents while supporting all American Campus Communities policies and procedures.
  • Perform resident/guest check in and check out procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of Turn, Make Ready, Move-In, and Move-Out during peak times.
  • Responsible for follow-up and communication as needed on standard resident/guest questions and serve as an information resource related to Company and community policies and procedures for short-term accommodation.
  • Assist in the Turn and Make-Ready process for short-term housing accommodation and high turnover occupancy to confirm that the assigned spaces are ready for resident/guest check in.
  • Participate in short-term accommodation and high turnover occupancy move-out and unit walk through processes to include, but not limited to: ensuring residents/guests have fully vacated the bed space and unit, trash outs, damage walks and documentation, etc.
  • Participate in rotation schedule for desk shifts, make ready shifts, checklist rounds, move in/out day(s), etc.

  • Assist with various administrative duties related to short-term housing, to include but not limited to: preparing and distributing check-in/check-out packets, unit access items, i.e. keys, access cards, unit condition forms, etc.
  • Ensure proper welcome environment for check in including, but not limited to: appropriate directional signage is posted, check in area is prepared, etc.
  • Report facilities issues via the established work order system and notify supervisor(s) of urgent issues or issues that have not been resolved.
  • Assist in inventory audits prior to and post short-term accommodations and/or high turnover periods to include, but not limited to: unit access items, keys, amenity passes, provided in-unit amenity resident/guest items, etc.
  • Participate in all required orientation, training sessions, and weekly staff meetings.
  • On-call shifts may be required.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • High School diploma and/or equivalent experience in customer service, hospitality, and/or similar industry experience.
  • Customer Service, general housekeeping and cleaning skills.
  • Ability to be a team player, maintain a positive attitude and problem solve.
