Puget Sound Hospice is a 4.5-star Rated Medicare-certified agency that is seeking an experienced and caring, independent Medical Director (MD or DO) for our Hospice division in the Thurston, Grays Harbor, and Mason County area! This is a contract position with a cap of 25-30 hours per month.

Essential Duties
- Provides overall medical direction and management of the program
- Establishes and reviews policies and procedures related to patient care, medical education, and emergency procedures
- Evaluates and participate in QAPI plans and monitoring
- Establishes, builds, and nurtures relationships with staff and referral sources
- Acts as a medical liaison and hospice champion in the community
- Provides written certification of terminal illness and performs face-to-face encounters within (30) days in conjunction with NP
- Act as PCP for patients whose referring/attending physician relinquishes or is not available for further contact
Requirements and Qualifications
·Current Washington state licensure (or before first day of work)
· Licensed as a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy, without restriction, or subject to disciplinary or corrective action
· Maintains controlled substances registration with state and federal authorities
· Experience/training in hospice, palliative, or end-of-life care
· Not excluded from participating in Medicare programs
