SEH is currently searching for a talented Technician to join our Highway Design team in the Chippewa Falls, WI area!

SEH's Highway Design Team keeps their eyes and minds on the road – their solutions impact how we travel across our highways and roadways. You will be part of an award-winning team which designs innovative solutions for traffic and corridor enhancements, and bridge and interchange designs using the latest technology. From the initial stages of the project of surveying and right-a-away acquisition to stakeholder engagement through complex design, environmental work and construction – you’ll find yourself immersed in life-lasting projects that get us where we need to go safely and efficiently

What you will be doing:

  • Perform mid-level technician work on highway design projects
  • Serve as a Field Engineer on various projects during construction season, conducting site visits and construction progress meetings to provide the contractor guidance on the project design intent and assure construction quality
  • Work with the highway engineering team to accurately design and draft information from various software programs, compute horizontal and vertical alignments

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related degree
  • Minimum of two (2) years previous experience in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
  • Working knowledge and previous experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3d, MS Office suite
  • Must reside in the Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin area or be willing to relocate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience drafting as well as designing
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering and surveying practices
  • Basic understanding of mathematical skills
  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc. Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Ability to learn and keep abreast of the latest design standards and procedures
  • Ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and/or design data and information such as ordinances, statutes, development plans, and policies
