We are in need of experienced Heavy Equipment Operators in both Richmond, VA and New Kent, VA. These multiple openings are for full-time, long-term work.

Looking for Heavy Equipment Operators who are capable of operating large equipment (i.e., excavators, loaders, and dozers).

The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates a variety of equipment used in the construction, maintenance and repair of large site jobs.

Heavy Equipment Operator Essential Functions:

• Must keep building and/or assigned areas of jobsite clean and organized as necessary to maintain a safe and productive working environment.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the Foreman/General Superintendent, Safety Director or HR manager.
• Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
• Assists in training new employees performing the maintenance and repair duties as required or assigned
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Heavy Equipment Operator Competencies:

• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce Safety procedures
• Ability to travel as needed (typically less than 10% of the time)
• 2 years or greater experience with effectively operating heavy construction equipment
• Fine grading experience
• Capable of climbing a ladder, reaching overhead, bending, pulling on wrenches, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to work outside in all types of weather
• Ability to work extended or overtime hours as needed
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Works well as part of a team.
• Clean driving record
