Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
  • Support short- and long-term operational/strategic business activities through analysis
  • Assess and analyze business data to inform recommendations related to tech platform rationalization, vendor spend, capital spend, and process improvements
  • Creation and application of project plans to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks with a high sense urgency across one or more projects and/or assessment areas
  • Create high-level process flow documents
  • Develop requirements for operations and technology teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in business process design and delivery of strategic operational initiatives, performing functions such as gathering requirements, process development, creating SOPs, gap analysis, etc.
  • 2+ years of applied critical thinking and analytical skills demonstrated through complex data collection and analysis and ability to translate findings into insights for an executive audience
  • 2+ years of experience working with internal and external stakeholders, proven ability to provide client consultation and facilitate client meetings over the phone and in-person with varying levels of personal from staff to leadership, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a complex and matrixed environment, proven ability to collaborate with project team members and client stakeholders to design and implement effective solutions to complex business problems
  • Must be able to travel 25% annually within the US

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in external consulting or internal strategy department for a healthcare organization
  • Knowledge of medical group operations across both fee-for-service and risk-based payment models
  • Specific experience in value-based care delivery is a plus, including both provider and payer side operational experience
  • Knowledge of EMR software requirements, operations, or implementations; Experience working as a liaison between technical teams and the business
  • Solid organization and project management skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive forward progress on projects in support of large-scale business transformations

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only : The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
