Job Summary
This role serves as a liaison between Spectrum Health System providers, physicians, information system leadership and clinical leadership for Anatomic Pathology and the Advanced Technology Laboratory.
The position will support adoption and best practice use of the Electronic Medical Records. They will build positive working relationships with internal and external physicians, advanced practice providers and practices to assist in increasing adoption of technology and clinical practice standards. Works in a highly collaborative team environment across clinical, quality nursing, pharmacy and other disciplines. Key responsibilities include planning, creating, and implementing clinician adoption programs and ideas in collaboration with service line leaders. In addition this role will develop and implement clinical information systems change, communications of change, development of key performance indicators, and pro-active business intelligence solutions to assess outcomes of this work and physician engagement.
Essential Functions
  • Develops, organizes, directs, and promotes informatics initiatives in the areas of Spectrum Health hospital, ambulatory clinics, ED, continuing medical education programs, in-service events, activities to physicians and Spectrum Health service. Works collaboratively with Spectrum health executive and medical leadership. Works effectively with multidisciplinary professions, quality, IS training team, and system performance improvement teams to drive change.
  • Effective as a liaison to IS, Communication, and service line leaders and Medical Directors in order to set appropriate priorities and to develop approach for service lines and specific physician concerns.
  • Establishes and maintains active databases and files on each physician, including such data as physician preferences, suggestions, activities, issues and concerns, and key contacts. Leverages existing tools when possible. Develops and runs reports as needed. Collects, enters, reviews and analyzes physician complaint data and works with service line leaders towards resolution and process improvement
  • Creates a climate of effective collaboration, communication, and cooperation among a variety of disciplines, departments, and roles. Leverages emerging social media and other methods to collaborate with physicians, physician supporters, and other stakeholders. Maintains the clinical information system change management databases, evidence based content, issues tracking tools and other related knowledge bases up to date.
  • Coordinates educational content and training to internal and external physicians, their staff, members of the Spectrum Health team, and members of the medical staff in partnership with the IS training team, super users and other clinical support leaders.
Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree or work equivalency in Business, Marketing, Healthcare or a related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience Healthcare experience working with physicians as a consultant or educator Required
  • Working with physician and/or advanced practice providers Required
  • Background in change management, process improvement, project management Required
  • Background in informatics Preferred
  • Clinical practice experience Preferred
  • 5 years of relevant experience working in an EHR Required
  • CRT - EPIC Clinical Informatics - Clinical Informatics within 1 year of hire, and
  • CRT - EPIC Credentialed Trainer - Clinical Informatics preferred
