The London Borough of Lewisham Public Health Team is looking for a Project Officer to help deliver its Health Inequalities & Health Equity Programme 2022-2024.



The Programme aims to strengthen local health & wellbeing partnerships across the system and communities to enable equitable access, experience and outcomes for Lewisham residents, particularly those from Black and other racially minoritised communities.



A key objective of the Programme, among others, is to prioritise and implement specific opportunities for action from the pioneering and ground-breaking Birmingham and Lewisham African Caribbean Health Inequalities Review.



This role will play a critical part in delivering and supporting the Programme to ultimately improve outcomes for residents and reduce health inequalities in Lewisham.


The role
Lead on the implementation of specific health inequalities projects/ programmes ensuring the required outcomes are met.



To deliver a project or projects assigned to an agreed direction, timescale and budget.



To work closely with stakeholders in order to ensure that their requirements are met.



To develop and implement appropriate project controls and systems to ensure effective management of risk and financial probity.



Oversee and coordinate the work of all staff involved in the project(s) (internal/external).



Location
The service is primarily based in Laurence House, 1 Catford Rd, London, SE6 4RU, however we operate a hybrid approach to working at the office and home as determined by service requirements.


What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will be required to support and lead all aspects of a project from conception to delivery. You will have experience of supporting and successfully delivering projects.



We are looking for an individual that possess excellent leadership, project management, analytical, stakeholder management and negotiation skills to be able to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders including senior management and diverse communities.



The successful candidate will also use their own initiative to problem solve and manage conflicting priorities, in a changing environment to meet challenging deadlines.

Salary details
£41,346 - £43,356 per annum (PO3)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
