Job Overview:
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Northlake, TX is seeking a determined, motivated and customer service oriented Guest Service Manager
This position has a 90-day probationary period.
A Front Desk Supervisor will be asked to perform the following duties:

  • Answer inquiries and check in/out guests in a timely and professional manner
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations
  • Oversee Diamond, Platinum members and special guest requests
  • Follow and enforce hotel credit policies
  • Monitor key control to maintain hotel security
  • Ensure the maximization of room revenue through Rooms Merchandising
  • Monitors same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and control hotel occupancy
  • Review Front Office log and Trace File daily
  • Generate and updating required reports, files, and checklists
  • Help maintain productivity levels at or above budgeted standards
  • Run room status reports and relay necessary information to affected departments
  • Assist in training and cross training of new hires and current employees
  • Keep track of IHG One Reward member enrollments, Member Recognition, Welcome Amenity and all staff Brand Mandated training.
  • Train staff for Check in and check out process as per the brand standard.
  • Weekly 10 minutes meeting with front line staff.
  • Knowledge to respond chargeback, web-guru and social media reviews.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees
  • Obtain all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow the rate-quoting scenario
  • Operate relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system
  • Log and deliver messages, packages, and mail
  • Know of IHG rates codes , packages, and promotions etc
  • Complete and ensure a proper bucket check, room rate verification report, and housekeeping report

Mandatory Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Computer skills are a must
  • At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel atmosphere
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and Second and Night Audit shifts
  • Knowledge of operations associated challenges for all area hotel
  • Possesses excellent telephone sales skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Strong organization skills
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service
  • Strong conflict resolution and service recovery skills are a must
  • Polished, professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Strong cash handling and mathematical skills are a must

Preferred Experience/Knowledge

  • Previous supervisory responsibility

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
