Service Greeter

The Service Greeter intercepts and routes incoming calls, takes thorough messages, and provides basic information to callers. They are the dealership’s front-line contact with the public and must represent the dealership in a professional, friendly manner at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Intercepts all incoming calls and determines whether the person being called should be interrupted.
  • Communicate with callers in a professional, friendly and efficient manner, striving to minimize the answering time and the time they are put on hold.
  • Take thorough messages, including the caller’s first and last name, company name if applicable, time, and the message.
  • Communicate messages to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Provide very basic information to callers who have general inquiries.
  • Serve as service center greeter (i.e. when customer is not met by a Service Advisor and direct to appropriate persons as necessary.
  • Update and distribute company telephone roster when necessary.
  • Maintain Phone log daily.
  • Maintain customer name file daily.
  • File repair orders daily.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication
  • Previous experience as a Greeter or in a related position preferred.
  • Must speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers.
  • Must be able to convey messages to employees clearly and quickly.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Typing and 10 key operation by touch, computer friendly.
