Nursery Specialist

Supervisor: Head Grower

Location: Francesville, IN

Job Overview

The Nursery Specialists carry out the day-to-day care of plants that are in their early stages of development. This role will be tasked with handling plants with extreme care and monitoring their health and development during germination and emergence.

Responsibilities

• Inspect individual plant leaves to diagnose plant health risks

• Monitor and track the growing conditions in the germination and propagation rooms

• Transplant plants at different stages of development without damaging the plant

Qualifications

• Any experience in plant science, horticulture, greenhouses, or related fields is preferred

• Willing to work on weekends

• Able to read and write English is required

• Needs to be a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic

• Highly detailed with strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate well and follow directions from supervisors
• Willing and able to perform all essential job tasks in extremely hot conditions where temperatures may exceed 90 degrees
• Full range of body motion - bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, reaching
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and walk on uneven surfaces

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
