Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Five years general knowledge of design software. Knowledge in Adobe Design Suite 5.5 or later, Coral Draw, Gerber Composer and Roland Versa Works. Use of printing, composing and computing equipment.

Job Summary:

· Exercises independent judgment necessary to complete work assignments in a cost-effective manner while ensuring highest quality.

· Utilize necessary products and equipment needed for composing and laying out graphic art for brochures, posters, signs, room numbers, etc.

· Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts, then obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout to customer.

· Prepares final layout by making and passing up finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing and similar equipment, purchasing from vendors.

· Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.

· Increase knowledge through performance development by attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Communicating with all staff, students, and faculty including answering the telephone, responding to email, etc. and responding in a professional manner to solve problems in a timely manner.

· Contributes to a safe work environment, following safety procedures outlined in Material Safety Data Sheets. Participates in safety training. Maintains shops, job sites, and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner for both workers and others.

· Performs related and other departmental duties as required.

· Being flexible and adaptable to changing tasks and responsibilities
