Position Overview:

Galen College of Nursing is seeking a creative and analytical Graphic Designer with one foot in the artistic world and the other in marketing. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing and managing creative assets for Galen's Marketing Communications team, supporting the Marketing Manager in execution of integrated marketing needs for the individual campuses along with secondary support of overarching brand materials and advertising.

The ideal candidate will have mastery of industry-standard software and advanced design skills demonstrating the ability to adapt to specific brand standards and vehicles of communication; the ability to clearly communicate the reasoning behind design choices; takes initiative to keep work moving through approval processes; and is well-organized and demonstrates efficient project management skills with a desire to share and bring new ideas to the team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Create designs that communicate and inform by defining requirements, and visualizing and creating graphics using color, texture, images, symbols, and text, as you shape the visual aspects to final approval for any materials necessary, including but not limited to: emails, brochures, newsletters, flyers, paid social media and digital ads, social media graphics, catalogs, guidebooks, admissions materials, and operational print and digital needs as requested.
• Obtain input from management, ensuring designs meet Galen's brand standards and quality expectations, express ideas accurately and clearly, and represent the college appropriately.
• Work independently and cooperatively with marketing and cross-functional teams, meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
• Ensure brand identity policy is supported and enforced.
• Perform other duties and assist as necessary for marketing department success.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic arts, design, or related field required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Five - seven years' experience in graphic design
• Mastery in Adobe Creative Suite
• Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
• Strong creative and analytical thinking skills
• Excellent eye for detail
• Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
• Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
• Agency background a plus
• Creation of animated graphics a plus
• Team player and great attitude under pressure
• Desire to learn and grow
