Job description

We are a national magazine and book publisher specializing in puzzles and brain teasers, coloring and activity books, and a growing array of other publications. We are looking for a passionate, motivated graphic artist/designer with illustration skills to join our team. While we are primarily seeking entry-level candidates who wish to grow with our company, more experienced artists will also be considered.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Creating new, eye-catching cover designs for our many books and products from existing templates, as well as brand new concepts.
• Illustrating for both product covers and interiors.
• Editorial page layout design for our newsstand (magazine) publications.
• Print production, including checking that the specs of a product are acceptable for printing and transferring of the files to their appropriate destinations.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Experience in the following Adobe Creative Cloud software: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong illustration skills.
• Strong typography and layout skills.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
