GRANT COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

Summary:

The Grants Compliance Specialist (GCS), under the guidance of the Finance Dept. The controller will be responsible for overseeing the compliance of all government grants and contracts for the contract portfolio of programs. GCS will ensure contract compliance requirements are met and will serve as internal liaison to program staff in their roles as they relate to grant compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review all government contracts and serve as the internal expert on grant compliance.
  • Oversee all grants and contracts and ensure all are consistently aligned with grants and program budget throughout the grant/fund period. Complete grants reimbursement request.
  • Work with Program staff to develop and implement processes to ensure grant compliance.
  • Design and execute monitoring processes, including conducting file audits, assessments, and documenting results, and analyzing data trends.
  • Maintains documentation of all contracts and grants in collaboration with the program, philanthropy, and business staff.
  • Work with finance dept supervisor to write new and updated standard operations procedures as required, to ensure compliance with government grants.
  • Identify potential areas of compliance risk factors; remain abreast of all compliance changes activities and identify trends; communicate appropriately with staff concerning policies, procedures, and updates.
  • Work with the finance team department team to maintain contracts, grants, expense budgets, and analysis accounting to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with finance dept. supervisor to develop an effective compliance training workshop and provide necessary training to program staff as it relates to grant administration and compliance policies.
  • Provide compliance update reports to senior management as directed or requested.

General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Significant executive support experience, including supporting C-level executives. Nonprofit board experience is highly preferred.
  • High degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people, including Board members, senior executives, staff, community leaders, donors, and funded partners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong Proficiency with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software; ability to design and edit graphic presentations and materials.
  • Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to make appropriate, informed decisions regarding priorities and available time.
  • Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance.
  • Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround. Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Excellent judgment is essential.
  • Ability to switch gears at a moment’s notice.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, or related experience managing grants.
  • Track record delivering superior results and fostering respect.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and aspirations of the agency.
  • Skills required to plan, organize, and coordinate; keen attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
