Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer
Description:
We are currently looking for a Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team working under a senior engineer as required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare engineering calculations, analysis, design, and sketches for structural steel and concrete structures, and foundations.
- Coordinate and gather technical information required for design from other disciplines.
- Prepare Material Take-offs and other engineering deliverables.
- Apply structural engineering principals, concepts, and code requirements to design steel and concrete structures and foundations per ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
- Utilize 3D models to support engineering design work.
- Communicate effectively with the engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance as required.
- May have Vacation Student/ Internship experience in an engineering environment.
- Technical and practical structural engineering skills.
- Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of structural engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- Developing skills in structural engineering specific software.
- Some skills in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Requirements:
- A minimum B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.).is a plus
- Technical and practical civil engineering skills.
- Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of structural engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- Developing skills in structural engineering specific software, STAAD, Mathcad, and Excel.
- Some knowledge of ASC 7-16, AISC, and ACI codes, and California Building Code (CBC).
