Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 31 branches throughout the United States.

We are seeking a General Manager for our Wilsonville Branch.

Position Summary: The General Manager of the branch is responsible for everything the branch does and fails to do. You will lead a branch of 35+ team members responsible for everything from purchasing to sales and operations. You are responsible for sales in excess of $35M, and will have the satisfaction of providing day-to-day supervision and leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fully responsible for profit and loss of the entire branch.
  • Lead all employees by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
  • Drive new business development; increase sales, profitability, and market share.
  • Manage operating costs to minimize operating expense per employee.
  • Evaluate, coach and develop all personnel to assist them in realizing their maximum individual potential and meet the Rugby mission of “best place to work”.
  • Represent Rugby to all business partners to the highest professional standard and strive for the Rugby mission of “Best Customer” status to our manufacturer supplier.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • 5 years of distribution or manufacturing management experience, including sales management and business development responsibilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial, de-centralized, high-accountability, and performance-driven culture.
  • Proven experience providing branded and generic products in a B2B environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) including the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
  • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully lead large-scale departmental or company initiatives.
  • Excellent forecasting and reporting skills.
  • Ability to teach, train and cultivate future leaders for the organization.
