The Sussex County Miners are a Frontier League team established in 2015 located in Augusta, NJ. The Frontier League is an MLB Partner League who features teams from the Midwest, Canada and the East Coast.

General Manager
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage sales and operations of the team and stadium. The GM has oversight of a 60+ member staff (sales team, box office, operations, manager, coaches, trainer, clubhouse manager, players, game day staff, concession management and interns) with direct supervision of all departments within the organization prior to and during all home games and during the off-season.
  • Drive corporate and ticket sales with expectations to meet annual budgets.
  • Develop contacts in the area while also using networking skills to attract new sales clients and utilize contacts to create trade partnerships to reduce company expenses.
  • The GM is directly responsible for company finances including but not limited to bank reconciliation, payroll, profit/loss statements, accounts payable and receivable processing to assure all vendor payments are made prior to due date. The GM shall be supported by outside accounting.
  • Serve as team spokesperson with area media outlets and local service organizations.
  • Serve as company liaison/point of contact with the Frankford Township and the Frontier League of Professional Baseball, while building strong working relationship with both parties. Utilize customer service, public and community relation skills to develop successful business and community relationships with business partners and our fans at each and every game and throughout the community.
  • Management and oversight of all stadium improvements.
  • Coordinate all team logistics including bus transportation load and depart times for each road trip with bus company per preferred times of coaching staff. Coordinate all hotel stays.
  • Compile and obtain meal money for manager, coaches, trainer, radio broadcaster and players for all road trips.
  • Coordinate and schedule all spring training games, team meals with local vendors for PR opportunities.
  • Obtain vendors and line up all post game meals for all home games for both teams and umpires.
  • Assist in execution of player contracts and management of the salary cap.
  • Update team roster daily with any additions/deletions and provide to coaching staff and radio broadcasters from both teams, while also obtaining pitching match up’s and rosters for all 100 games from home and visiting team and provide to home and visiting teams coaching staff, media/radio broadcasters and our front office staff.
  • Coordinate, schedule and manage Workman’s Compensation and General Liability policies on annual basis, while managing all claims in season with carrier.
  • Negotiate and serve as team purchasing agent for: merchandise for the team shop; all promotional giveaway items; items for the team (uniforms, helmets, bags, bats, etc.); all printed promotional materials to assure organization is receiving the best price and the best quality while assuring all items arrive on time from all vendors.
  • Conduct intern interviews and serve as intern supervisor on annual basis.
  • Manage, motivate, monitor and train all full time and game day employees while provide them with the necessary tools to serve our clients and fans during every home game.
