Position Summary
The Gas Turbine Airfoil Design Engineer researches, plans, and designs ProEnergy’s mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
Position Responsibilities
  • Design gas turbine airfoils for aeroderivative turbines - blades and vanes (or nozzles) for both turbine and compressor parts
  • Design for aeromechanics using Campbell diagrams and considering flow induced vibrations
  • Ensure attachments are properly damped with adequate margin to edge of contact stresses
  • Lead third party design consultants for detailed design of specific components
  • Maintain compliance with engineering codes, standards and regulations
  • Interface as technical authority with service teams for gas turbine components
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 10+ year’s relevant experience
  • Must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical leadership of a team designing turbine blades and vanes
  • Understand and design to mitigate “negative aero damping”
  • Designing tip shroud dampers and mid span dampers as appropriate
  • Familiarity with ANSYS Workbench tools
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems in a logical and effective manner.
  • Proficient in the use of various MS Office Suite programs.
