Reporting to the Manager Environmental Services (inactive in WD), Environmental Services, this position is responsible for supervising and directing the work activities of the Central Transportation Program, which includes movement of patients and nonpatient items, dispatching of work, and tracking of these activities in the computer with TeleTracking. The incumbent supervises byleading and is a positive role model. Continuously monitors staff performance and provides support for staff members. Creates an atmosphere of open, positive communication throughout the department.
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Ability to communicate and follow verbal and written instructions is required.
3. Current American Healthcare Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.
4. Valid California Driver's License and good driving record are required.
5. Ability to operate a van-type vehicle in local traffic is required.
6. Learning proper lifting and transferring techniques when moving patients, using gurneys, wheelchairs and patient beds, lifting and transferring equipment and operating communication equipment are required.
7. EMT or other healthcare related experience is preferred.
8. Ability to work well under time constraints and apply common sense, understanding and good decision making in carrying out responsibilities is required.
