Tierra Del Lagarto is hiring!

Located in North Scottsdale, Tierra Del Lagarto is a 12,000 square foot retail furniture and accessories showroom open to the public and to the trade. Our goods are sourced all over the world and inventory is constantly changing depending on what new shipment has arrived. Containers from India, Indonesia, Morocco, Mexico, and Turkey come in throughout the year. Our owners travel to each of these countries yearly and hand select all pieces on their trips.

We are looking for an experienced full time salesperson to join our team. A passion for forging relationships with repeat clients, creativity for working with our ever-changing home decor inventory, and being a motivated self-starter are all requirements for this full time position. While a design background is not required, a love of all things interior design is a definite plus.

While we are a showroom first, our store is also a working warehouse as things come off our shipping containers and go right out on the the floor. Climbing ladders, taking things to client's cars, and being quick on your feet are all musts in our hands-on showroom.

We pride ourselves on great relationships with our clients, many of whom have been shopping with us for decades. Our shop opened over 30 years ago, and remains a family owned business. Our number one priority is exemplary customer service. We work closely with interior designers, architects and builders, and need to always be ready to go the extra mile for these repeat customers. Learning the history and stories behind our varied goods is an essential part of selling in our store.

In addition to creatively managing clients needs by suggesting the right pieces for their homes, our sales people also help manage inventory and assist with the store's displays.

We have a non-competitive sales force. Compensation is hourly and not commission based - we all work as a team. We pay monthly bonuses when target sales are reached, and profit sharing bonuses based on performance and seniority at year's end.

We offer health and dental insurance, and pay half of full time employee's monthly payments. We also offer a retirement savings account where the store matches a percentage of full time employee's contributions.

Paid vacation time and personal days are part of our full time employee package. After the first year of employment, we pay for a week of vacation during the summer months. There are additionally 5 paid personal days off each year.

Working on Saturdays and/or Sundays is a requirement, but we do strive to give employees a weekend off in a rotation, or two days off in a row, when possible. We are closed on Sundays May through September.

Starting hourly rates are negotiable depending on experience.
