Essential Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner, displaying a positive attitude, speaking highly of the company in the presence of customers or other employees
- Follow established Personal Appearance Policy policies and guidelines
- Follow all company policies and procedures in regards to safety
- Tender customer transactions in a quick and efficient manner
- Promote any current charitable campaigns
- Understand and follow company guidelines in scanning every item
- Recognize and become familiar with the different types of produce
- Understand and follow company guidelines on B.O.B.(Bottom of the Bascart)
- Understand and follow company guidelines on tendering Electronic Funds
Transactions. (i.e. Credit/Debit, EBT, Gift Cards). Also tendering and processing
Cash Transactions, Check Transactions

- Understand and adhere to guidelines on tendering coin star vouchers
- Understand and adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering bottle slips
- Understand and adhere to guidelines pertaining to the use of the store coupon key and codes
- Understand and adhere to the company's limits on cash shortages
- Work honestly and effectively to control loss
- Understand and adhere to shrink guidelines as related to front end operations
- Strive to achieve company’s item per bag guidelines
- Check prices, which requires knowing the locations of all items
- Understand the operation of the cash register and follows all cash-handling policies to help prevent loss
- Understand and adhere to company guidelines and applicable law on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks, Videos, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and organized work station
The Cashier may be assigned to perform other tasks in addition to those discussed above.
