Freedom Boat Club is an international leader in owning and franchising Boat Clubs since 1989. We have over 350+ boat clubs in operation throughout North America and Europe.

The Freedom Boat Club Marketing Manager (MM) is the primary marketing lead for all company-owned Freedom Boat Club locations across the Southeast* United States. The MM is responsible for the development, planning, and execution of local marketing programs and advertising to drive profitable growth through the sale of club memberships.

*Territory includes:

  • Raleigh, NC

  • Beaufort, NC

  • Charleston, SC

  • Lake Lanier, GA

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop local marketing plans while monitoring effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.

  • Negotiate media schedules, sponsorships, and placings on behalf FBC company-owned locations.

  • Provide a detailed calendar to the Director of Marketing that outlines goals, focus, travel plans, and other related issues in managing their specified territory; document and communicate all marketing activities and the measurable results.

  • Create and execute a New Club Grand Opening action plan for all company-owned New Club Openings (NCOs)

  • Build relationships with key leaders/influencers within the community; creating partnership programs and driving brand advocacy.

  • Support membership executives (sales team) – ensure steady lead generation, event support (open houses, member socials, community events, etc.), and other duties that are tied to building sales.

  • Operating within a defined T&E budget, travel throughout his/her territory to understand the unique dynamics of each territory and build relationships with key customers and develops a deep understanding of FBC customer and operations by working/interacting with members on the docks.

  • Work with Home Office to ensure brand compliance at all levels within their territory.

  • Execute marketing plans when necessary, including events.

  • Complete all duties assigned by the Director of Marketing.

The Ideal Candidate Possesses:

  • A bachelor degree in related field or equivalent work experience is required

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in developing and executing local store and regional marketing plans while also supporting national programs is required

  • Experience in franchise business marketing preferred. Marine industry experience is a bonus, but not required

  • Ability to demonstrate how he/her has worked with a multi-unit manager to build territory and site level marketing plans

  • A high-energy, dynamic personality and the ability to engage and influence peers, superiors, and vendors

  • The ability to travel extensively and work non-standard hours as necessary

  • Strong acumen in leveraging one to one consumer technology (CRM, email, etc.)

  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to convey facts and ideas clearly to stakeholders

  • Skills in verbal and written communication, problem-solving, planning, organization, multi-tasking, and strong analytical ability

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; is able to work through ambiguity toward a sound business decision

  • Creativity and the courage to express ideas

  • Significant experience building community relationships and event planning and execution tied to clear sales results

  • A strong desire to learn, develop his/her business understanding and marketing skillset and grow within Freedom Boat Club

  • A passion for being outdoors (and on the water!)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
