Position Summary:

Our forklift operators are responsible for the care, servicing, stowing, and delivery of customer boats, as well as ensuring the facility and equipment is clean and orderly and meets company and OSHA standards. Once the warehouse is in order, you will be servicing.

Essential Job Functions:

• Tow and Maneuver boats with a small counter-balance forklift
• Operate our Wiggins Marina Bull Forklifts to safely retrieve boats from the dry rack
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Move boats, trailers, and RV’s into and out of the storage area
• Perform property inspections at the beginning and end of every shift, and make sure the entire property is free of hazards.
• Perform daily equipment inspections (forklifts), and ensure equimpent stays operational, and in good working condition
• Perform walk around inspection of boats and complete inspection paperwork
• Check boat battery condition, lights, tire condition, air pressure and safety equipment
• Charge batteries as needed
• Change trailer light bulbs and light assemblies as needed.
• Perform service work on boats: oil change, winterize, summarize, change impeller, ect.
• Check the fuel tank to assure it is 95% full prior to storage, and fuel boats as needed
• Check to assure the batteries are disconnected prior to storage
• Raise and lower the tower/bimini if necessary
• Perform facility repairs, maintenance, and cleaning
• Wash, wipe down, vacuum, clean or detail the customers’ boats’
• Stock boats with ice as requested by the customer prior to delivery.
• Complete weekly restroom cleaning and fill out the checklist on the door.
• Perform fire extinguisher inspections, and re-bait the bait boxes at the boathouse and self storage on the 1st work day of every month.
• Remove items for disposal or for customer’s personal storage
• Perform other various assigned tasks

Essential Job Requirements (i.e. education, experience, etc.):

• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean DMV record and CA driver’s license
• 2 - 3 years experience operating forklifts-OSHA Certified
• Must be able to tow and maneuver a boat and trailer
• Must possess good customer relations skills
• Attire and conduct must be professional at all times
• Must possess good mechanical ability: change batteries, oil, etc.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, and over time if required
• Must pass background check and drug testing
• Must be able to physically lift 50 lbs. and climb in and out of a trailered boat. Must be able to be on your feet for an 8 hour shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
