Solon Corporation, a leader in the engineering and construction of commercial solar energy in the Southwest is seeking an outstanding Construction foreman responsible for the on-site management of commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
• Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
• Allocate general and daily responsibilities
• Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
• Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
• Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
• Optimize work equipment, tools and methods to improve efficiency
• Maintain daily reports, including head counts, hours worked by project and task, equipment use, materials received and daily production
• Establishes & maintains production rates for crews to assure schedules are met
• Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
• Resolve problems when they arise
• Report on progress to construction management,

Requirements

• 3 years civil construction supervision/leadership experience
• Proven experience as a commercial construction foreman/leader
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines
• Understanding of grading, paving, & underground utilities
• Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to communicate and report effectively
• Aptitude in math
• Problem-solving abilities
• Good physical condition and stamina
• High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade
• Electrical and/or Photovoltaic commercial construction is a plus
