Title: Certified Dietary Manager
General job description
Job responsibilities: Managing the dietary department while overseeing day to day processes of regulations set forth by the state to maintain a hazard free and safe work environment.
Job qualifications:
CDM Preferred
Kitchen experience Preferred
If the right candidate does not have either preferred qualifications, Chosen Valley Care Center is willing to send the candidate to get their CDM license.
Job duties:
- Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility’s food and nutrition services areas.
- Moves intermediately during working hours.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Is involved in resident personnel, visitors, government agency personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstances.
- Is subject to hostile and upset residents, family members, etc.
- Communicates with food and nutrition services staff, nursing staff and other departmental staff as needed.
- Works beyond normal hours on weekends and after normal shifts if needed to help fill positions in the food and nutrition services department as needed.
- Attends and participates in continuing education programs.
- Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Must be able to assist residents in a timely manner during emergencies.
- Assist in food preparation.
- Make only food authorized food substitutions.
- Assisted in serving meals on a timely basis.
- Assist in completing inventory checks and stocking incoming food, supplies, etc.
- Assist in maintain a clean and properly always arranged food areas.
- Maintain an environment of positive learning opportunities.
- Must be able to plan, organize and develop programs, goals, objectives and policies and procedures in the best interest of the staff and residents in the facility, while following regulations.
- Acts as a role model for expected quality care, attitude, and behavior.
- Monitors and maintains a safe and pleasant environment for residents and dietary team members.
- Maintains knowledge and demonstrates compliance of CVCC policy and procedure.
- Document’s objective, accurate and complete resident care records, employee performance records and administrative management records.
- Maintains confidentiality of records.
- Assist or manager the menus for the facilities residents.
- Works alongside the Registered Dietician as needed.
- Assists or manages keeping safety data sheets fr hazardous chemicals used or stores in the food and nutrition services department.
- Assists in scheduling of care plans.
- Attends department head meetings.
- Meet and collaborates with staff for the best needs of the facility.
- Any other job duties assigned by the administrator.
Job Relationships: Supervised by the Administrator. Supervises all food and nutrition services staff working in the primary care group.
