Day shift: 11:30am-8:00pm

Contract position for 3-4 months with opportunity to stay on!!

Food Service Workers

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include supervised, simple food preparation tasks, such as preparing sandwiches, salads, fruits, and desserts; setting up the cafeteria for food service and serving meals; restocking and replenishing serving line, dishes, condiments, and work area supplies; operating dishwashers and other kitchen equipment; washing and putting away utensils, pots, and pans; cleaning, sweeping and mopping floors; assisting with the set-up and serving at catered events; delivering food trays to in-patients; and serving as a resource to the public.

Wash and prepare food for cooking; prepare sandwiches and salads.

Keep steam tables supplied; dish out fruit and desserts.

Operate dishwashers and other mechanical equipment.

Remove and stack dirty dishes; wash pots, kettles, pans and other cooking utensils and equipment. Clean surfaces, sweep and mop floors.

Set up and deliver food trays and nourishments to patients according to departmental procedures.

Maintain sanitation in area of responsibility; transport and store supplies; carry out trash and garbage.

Perform related duties as assigned or requested.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Food Handler's card issued by the County of San Bernardino.

Covid Vaccine card or an Exemption letter (we can provide)

TB test within the last 10 years

--AND--

Experience: Six (6) months of full-time food service experience in a restaurant, fast food establishment, cafeteria, hotel, banquet room, hospital, correctional facility kitchen, school, military or senior living facility, or similar environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, and turning. Occasional sitting, squatting, kneeling, balancing, and stooping. Requires power grasping, precision grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation in both hands. Reach or work continuously below shoulder level, and frequently above shoulder level. Visual and auditory requirements: continuously demonstrate near vision and discern speech in quiet/noisy locations; frequently demonstrate far vision and color discrimination; and occasionally locate origin of sounds and discern non-speech sounds. Use sense of smell and/or touch to distinguish/identify odors/objects. Continuous lifting 25 lb. or less. Continuous carrying of 10 lb. or less and frequent carrying of 11-25 lb. Occasional lifting and carrying of 26-50 lbs. Carry items up to 40 feet, which includes the heaviest item (50 lb.)
