Positions Summary:

The primary purpose of your job position is to develop and maintain dietary service objectives, standards, policy and procedure manuals, and coordinates dietary services with other resident services.

You are also responsible for the planning, budgeting, and development of the department; as well as purchasing food and supplies, means, and providing a sanitary environment.

In addition, you are responsible for carrying out and delegating assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulation and established facility policies and procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, organizes implements, evaluates, and directs dietary department and its programs and activities.
  • Coordinates dietary services and activities with other related departments (i.e. Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.)
  • Develops and maintains written dietary policies and procedures.
  • Assists the dietary staff in the development and use of departmental policies and procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Assists in developing methods for determining quality and quantity of food served.
  • Assures that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitors food service production line, etc. to assure that the meals are prepared on time.
  • Visits residents periodically to evaluate the excellence of meals served; likes and dislikes, etc.
  • Forecasts needs of the department.
Job Qualifications:

  • Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Service Manager, OR associates degree in Food Management or Hospitality
  • At least 1 year expirience in LTC food amangement
