JOB TITLE: Bartender
REPORTS TO: Bar Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Food Service
PAY RATE: $17.40/hour plus tips (tips may only be accepted at bars, not restaurants)
JOB SUMMARY: Prepare, mix, and serve pre batched drinks and food correctly to either customers directly or through serving staff. Other duties within food service department may be assigned.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with Guests and other employees effectively.
- Properly operate cash register in accordance with all cash handling procedures.
- May be required to pour sodas, prepare, and serve food on as need basis.
- Ensure clean and sanitary work area at all times including, but not limited to sweeping, wiping tables, picking up and disposing of trash. check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age.
- Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
- Attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures.
- Prepare checks for customers and process transactions using the POS system.
- Arrange glasses and bottles into attractive and functional displays.
- Ensure clean bar equipment and working areas.
- Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies.
- Monitor inventory, order and restock bar inventory.
- Must maintain proper attendance and promptness.
- Other duties within food service as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
- Working knowledge of standard drink recipes.
- Working knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and bar equipment.
- Must possess oral and written English skills and must be able to communicate with Guests and other Team Members effectively.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- You will also work closely with many different types of machinery. Extreme caution needs to be used at all times.
- Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- Attention to detail.

- Must be able to walk or stand for up to six hours a shift.
- Requires occasional kneeling and bending.
- Requires occasional reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
- Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 30 pounds.
- Requires occasional carries up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck.
- Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech.
