Rubicon is looking for the Fleet Manager who will be responsible for leading a team of mechanics, planning, coordinating, and directing the operations of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs, and equipment use on company job sites. The Fleet manager will be creating work schedules, managing the budget for vehicle repairs and replacements, and ensuring all staff are properly trained and uphold safety standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years or more in Fleet and Asset Management
  • Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivation and training
  • Expert knowledge of best driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance and other industry practices
  • Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed
  • Ability to set and monitor a budget
  • Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Great written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Purchasing vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet
  • Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles
  • Ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed
  • Coordinating repairs and maintenance with mechanics; generating purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance
  • Coordinating Drivers and on-staff maintenance professionals when setting employee schedules
  • Purchasing tools and any supplies needed for the equipment or work crews
  • Issuing purchase orders in accordance with company policy and the accounting system
  • Managing vehicle licensure and registration
  • Ensuring all fleet members have proper licensure and up-to-date training
  • Monitoring drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices
  • The position acts as a technical advisor on all equipment issues and assists the management team with equipment budgets and potential equipment purchases
  • Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance and fleet progress
  • Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency
  • Inspecting equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies
  • Main point of contact for vendor management and negotiations for vehicle lease/purchase, maintenance, and fuel contracts
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to fleet operations, including licensing, registration, tolling programs, and inspections

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
