TITLE: Financial Reporting Accountant Americas

LOCATION: Standard Chartered Bank, Newark, NJ

DUTIES: Oversee the accounting and analysis of financial information for responsible America’s entities, including but not limited to posting journals entries, preparation of monthly pack, and ad hoc accounting request. Prepare the bank reconciliation for America’s entities. Review monthly IFRS Financial Reporting to the integrity of financials. Assist with the preparation of annual audited financial statements of certain entities within the Americas. Resolve day to day problems in processing and or systems and escalate issues as appropriate. Assist with projects and requests including but not limit to correction of intercompany mismatch, chart field clean-up, tax queries, etc. Cross train with other users in department to have coverage on the financial reporting teams. Perform daily trial balance review, monthly car spending review, Amex cards program (including P-card spending) review and Accounts payable support. Perform monthly balance sheet substantiation review and submission using SCB EORP system. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite pursuant to company policy.

REQTS: Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field, plus four (4) years of experience in the position offered or a related position. Must have four (4) years of experience in all of the following: Applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Pack process that analyze financial statements at different segment/sub-segment/products/customer level; Axiom Tool and General Ledger which are used to cater to financial result consolidation; Performing Manual Entries Review and Transaction Processing System; Utilizing PeopleSoft General Ledger and Hyperion System; Conducting reviews on critical processes including head office expenses, cross-border recharges, hedge accounting, and derivatives.
