The Associate role is integral to the success of the Financial Institutions Group line of business it supports, helping to drive the strategic vision set forth by Texas Capital Bank.


This position will support all the FIG lines of business, but with expected concentration on the Asset Management Services team and FIG-Banks team. The TCB Asset Management Services team is active in all areas of fund finance, warehouse lines of credit, and structured products while the Banks team provides banking services to community and regional banks across the US. Other teams within the FIG group include Title, Insurance, and Lender Finance. This position has direct interaction with other integral units within the bank including Treasury Services, Private Wealth, Capital Markets, and Sales & Trading. The FIG Associate should expect significant interaction with senior professionals across the bank.

Responsibilities:
  • Generate and prequalify leads, assist in pitch planning, provide feedback on possible terms and pricing, and assist portfolio management team in underwriting new transactions.
  • Engage with customers, vendors (law firms, audit firms, etc.), and others to obtain items needed for documentation.
  • Provide backup coverage for Relationship Managers
  • Shepard transactions through the documentation/closing process.
  • Monitor transactions in the pipeline and provide timely reporting to management of status and any anticipated changes to expected timing.
  • Identify additional customer needs and effectively communicate them to the Relationship Manager.
  • Educate customers, bankers and others on products, process, and documentation requirements.
  • Field customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Assist RMs in preparation for opportunity planning sessions (OPS)
  • Create and direct the preparation of pricing and return analysis
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional credit skills with formal training from a bank, credit fund, or nationally recognized credit training program (minimum of 3-years’ experience)
  • MBA or CFA (I, II, or, III) recommended.
  • Familiarity with structured products and fund finance
  • Knowledge of credit documentation requirements for each product
  • Ability to identify risk factors and potential mitigates.
  • Ability to monitor and engage on multiple transactions at one time.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal partners -credit, documentation, sales, and compliance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels – customers, bankers, sales, credit, documentation, management.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize to meet multiple conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to identify trends and implement process changes to improve both internal and external customer experience.
  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extraordinary levels of motivation and initiative.
  • Effective team players who want to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and build working relationships across the organization.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint in order to produce reports, memos, and presentations.
