Job Summary
Responsible for researching, contract negotiations, analyzing and preparing budgets, preparation of monthly financial statements for each practice, development of data and financial information for provider practices and physician billing services. Produces financial forecast information. Reviews, analyzes and communicates financial reports and data.
Acts as a proponent of Memorial Hospital's purpose, Mission and Values.

Qualifications

Education:
Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a business administration, finance or accounting.

Experience:
Two to four years of experience required, preferably in a health care setting. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. The candidate should be familiar with financial and budget reports and financial analysis. A working knowledge of spreadsheet software and main frame applications is required. Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement methodologies preferred.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting and financial procedures helpful in performing technical and detailed work. Demonstrates ability to consistently accept responsibility. Excellent verbal and written communication skills imperative in effectively relating to Director and administrative staff, physicians, office staff, other department directors and employees, patients, and visitors. Knowledge of PC and Financial software applications required.

Performance Requirements

Responsibility For:
Coordinates, gathers, and analyzes data in a consistent format and with efficient utilization of resources to achieve the desired product. Works with billing software system to gather necessary information. Uses statistical, economic and financial principles and techniques to prepare reports. Makes recommendations related to financial trends, economic and business forecasts and practice performance. Suggests improvement measures. Determines and devises data survey collection, research techniques, data interpretation and analytical methodology to analyze financial data. Prepares and coordinates all documentation as required by all regulatory agencies (Federal, State, and local governments)
Oversee and review financial results of the physician offices, i.e., review/update fee schedules, collections, accounts receivable; ensuring "best practice" performance, making recommendations and changes. Demonstrates a positive attitude, actively participates in appropriate Hospital meetings, and participates in continuing education. Demonstrates customer service through ongoing evaluation of financial reports with respect to their usefulness to the end user.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
Light physical work. Walks, sits and stands intermittently. Works in office areas and departments which are well-lighted, heated and ventilated. Occasional evening and weekend work.

Special Demands:
Possesses ability to work under pressure. Exercises high degree of initiative, judgment and discretion. Demonstrates reliability in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action. Ability to research, analyze, interpret complex data and present comprehensive reports.
