Job description

Summary: We are seeking a temporary File Clerk to help organize our file room. This task will take anywhere between 1-2 months.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Gathers and organizes files and documents
  • Create new files and provide needed information on checklist, forms, and reports
  • Secures and protects the privacy of documents
  • Places files, digital or paper, into their proper locations
  • Labels and updates paper files
  • Makes photocopies and sends faxes
  • Develops and maintains databases
  • Retrieve data and personnel files for co-workers
  • Ships files to offsite storage as needed
  • Maintain supply inventories
  • Assists other co-workers with administrative duties as needed

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work successfully with multiple team members, interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Competent to handle a variety of activities with attention to detail and quality, with the ability to follow through and follow up, and adapt to quickly meet changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and a high volume of work on short deadlines and follow through on assigned tasks with limited supervision.
  • Retain a high level of flexibility and resourceful problem solving.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma required
  • Prior Human Resources experience
  • Prior filing experience preferred
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • In office position
  • Normal office environment

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Birmingham, AL 35203: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • filing: 1 year (Preferred)
  • human resources: 2 years (Required)
