COMPANY OVERVIEW

Sunbelt Gated Access Systems, a subsidiary of Vesta Property Services, provides design, installation, and repair services of and for gate operators, access control and video surveillance systems and ornamental metal gates and fencing to multifamily and single-family homes and communities and commercial and industrial facilities. SUMMARY

The Field Service Technician shall be responsible for satisfying the customers definition of value by providing the necessary services to modify, repair and/or improve existing product, equipment and controls and will assist in developing new or updated systems, components or product applications. Further the Tech shall provide the necessary support to assure the customers understanding of implementation of our products and shall perform the necessary tasks to achieve the requisite level of such support. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESinclude the following:

· Determine material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; take appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs.

· Inspect, repair and make necessary operating adjustments to the customer’s gate operators, access control and video surveillance systems.

· Install, create or adapt parts as needed to make repairs and improve the performance of the customer’s equipment.

· Ensure local, state and national safety codes are followed and proper materials are used throughout the customer’s systems.

· Perform safety checks to ensure proper operation of the customer’s systems.

· Report potentially dangerous safety conditions to supervisor and takes steps to resolve the issue.

· Instruct customer’s personnel regarding safe working procedures and requirements when working with the system.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES(cont):

· Develop and maintain records related to the repair/replacement of the company’s offered products and systems.

· Assist in installation work as needed

· Timely completion of work orders, travel expense reports and field service department forms

· Assist in the maintenance of the company’s parts and materials stock and maintain such personal parts and materials stock as may be necessary to the performance of the assigned tasks

· The Tech is responsible for maintaining communications with the Field Service Supervisoras well as the other managers, colleagues, and clerical staff.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Field Service Supervisor

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to the elements throughout the year. Indoor work will be performed during extreme weather conditions whenever possible.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is frequently required to stand, squat, walk, reach, climb ladders and work overhead. Employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and have the ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring.

TRAVEL:

Daily travel is expected with a company provided vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or GED

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools
  • Associates degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
