Responsibilities
We are searching for highly motivated, technically competent, and mechanically inclined individuals to join our Field Service Team. In this position, you will play a key role in maintaining system uptime, availability, and performance for deployed units on customer sites in a specific region. You will train at our Headquarters in Menlo Park, CA and be assigned a particular service region, which will require travel.   • Mechanically repair and/or perform maintenance on components and assemblies that make up our generators in accordance with procedures and build checklists in order to meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components and assemblies
  • Conduct mechanical inspections of deployed units, documenting condition information for use by our team for debugging or troubleshooting
  • Be “on-call” for unit service based upon written schedule: Units run 24/7 and Mainspring is responsible, with the Technician, for maximum availability and uptime
  • We are expanding this position on a national scale, so candidates from the Bay Area will have the opportunity to relocate out of state after specialized and adequate training for a minimum of three months at headquarters
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with mechanical assembly and/or repair. Experience with automotive, aviation, and/or heavy equipment (i.e. HVAC, elevators/lifts, or industrial equipment) assembly a plus
  • Experience with precision measuring, down to .001”, using micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, etc. Also, familiarity with torque wrenches and documentation of repairs performed
  • Candidates must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift to 50 lbs., and wear required PPE
  • Must have knowledge of how to use and maintain basic tools, such as torque wrenches and torque specifications
  • Must have experience with following written and verbal work instructions while on-site
  • Excellent communication skills, software knowledge of Google Workspace is a plus
  • A proven track record for the ability to work well with others as part of a dynamic team
  • Ability to learn quickly, is self-motivated and safety oriented
  • Valid Driver’s license required; Class C Commercial Driver’s License preferred
The Bay Area hourly wage for this role is $28.50-$48 + pre-IPO stock options + benefits. This position will report on-site in Menlo Park, CA. The hourly wage will be adjusted based on the experience of the employee.
