Field Service Engineer

Washington D.C.

Your Tasks:
As a member of the Miltenyi Biotec Service Operation team, you will utilize your superior customer management skills, technical background and factory training to perform service activities, including installations, maintenance, repairs, and other various validation services performed on advanced scientific instruments utilized by the scientific community in the biotech and Life Science Research fields within your assigned geographic region and the US. Additionally, you will collaborate with associate field service engineers, service support staff, and technical support scientist to meet our customer’s service and support needs. As a result of your efforts, you will support the continued success of Miltenyi Biotec as a whole.

Requirements:

• Associate degree or higher in a technical or mechanical discipline, or equivalent Military Technical Training; a minimum of 2 years directly related experience servicing instruments of similar complexity in the field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be comfortable working with potentially bio-hazardous materials.
• Able to travel frequently.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, evidence of insurance/insurability, and the ability to receive appropriate clearance to access restricted government accounts.
• May be assigned to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on customer demand.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have ability to handle more than one task at a time and must work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a variety of facilities. This person will have an office environment for about half of the work performance, which is temperature controlled. This job requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research/clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict SOPs and PPE must be worn.
