FirstLight Home Care of Westchester has an immediate opening for a Home Care Client Service Specialist. FirstLight is a LHCSA (Licensed Home Care Services Agency) that has been providing exceptional care to the clients of Westchester for over 10 years. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, extremely motivated, an exceptional communicator, a problem-solver, and have a genuine desire to help others.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Working with the current care team on all day-to-day client issues. These matters may be operational, clinical, or social in nature;
• Client intake and securing new business;
• Frequent In-Home client visits for client onboarding, quality control, and general service delivery-related items ;
• Direct coordination with our clinical team on client progress
• Backup/support caregiver scheduler.
• Engagement with referral source case managers, community partners, and local industry groups
• On-Call on a monthly rotation
• A car and a valid driver's License required
• Our Client base is primarily in Westchester County, however, some visits may be in Bronx & Putnam Counties.
• The position is based out of our Mount Kisco office, where about 20% of your time will be spent visiting clients. This may grow as our business develops further.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Experience in the Private Pay Home Care Industry
• College degree (Bachelor preferred)
• Dementia Care Experience
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent phone and communication skills
• The ability to navigate difficult/challenging situations with professionalism
• Compassion and the genuine desire to help others
• Proficient and comfortable with using office/ senior care-related technology, including windows, MS office, mobile devices, and scheduling systems. (Will train)

Caregivers are required to get 5 hours interrupted of sleep by law. By putting an overnight caregiver at the case, the aide would be able to get their mandated sleep time. You must inform the family & patient that there will need to be an overnight caregiver moving forward, as well as the increase in price. Write up a mock email to a family member of the patient, stating the situation moving forward.
• A caregiver has been calling out last minute for their shift as well as arriving late, on multiple occasions. The client has become unhappy with the caregiver, and does not want her to return. How would you approach the caregiver and client in this situation?
