Family Advocate
(seasonal school year)
Head Start Newburyport site
We are offering a $2000 hiring bonus!
The Family Advocate (FA) position works closely with the staff and parents to provide comprehensive education and health services to children. The FA supports the parent(s) in accomplishing goals that the parent(s) set for their family. This is accomplished through home-visiting, conferencing and accountability check-ins. The FA must have good interpersonal skills including listening, a non-judgmental approach and compassion. The minimum requirements for the FA is a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field or willingness to obtain certification or degree within 18 months of hire. Bilingual skills English/Portuguese desired. The position is seasonal/school year, 35 hours per week 39 weeks per year. Salary range: $19.54 to $22.31 dependent upon education and experience.
