Blue Bell Creameries has three plants of which manufacture ice cream. We currently have opportunities for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Ammonia Equipment and Production Equipment Sections at the Brenham, TX location. The candidates should have great attention to detail, work in a team setting, and enjoy the challenges that a dynamic food manufacturing facility has to offer.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform preventative maintenance on engine room equipment, as well as troubleshooting, repairing of equipment and machinery while adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Also, be responsible for performing a combination of tasks including repairing and maintaining compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, blowers, production machines and other mechanical equipment. Be able to work a 45-hour work week. Be willing to work some Saturdays and Holidays. Some work in the cold storage areas will also be required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technician Functions
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment, machinery, valves, piping systems and structures.
- Maintain documentation and catalogue data for various systems while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Troubleshoot machine operation and perform equipment maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years' maintenance experience and/or training
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude required and basic math skills preferred.
- Some basic plumbing / lubrication / electrical / mechanical / preventive maintenance experience is a plus.
- Experience working on Ammonia Compressors is also a plus. (Ammonia Equipment Area)
- Shop tool skills and knowledge such as: Drill press / Bandsaw / Bead Blaster / Hand tools / Shop welding equipment are a plus. (Production Equipment Area)
