The facilities lead shall coordinate facilities resources to attain optimum productivity, efficiency, and service to customers. Supports the delivery of services to UPH customers by assisting in providing necessary building and equipment maintenance. Proper execution of these responsibilities enables UPH to provide high quality, efficient and cost-effective services.

Responsibilities:

Key Accountability

  • Acts as troubleshooting agent to resolve non-typical facility work orders that are unable to be resolved with Facilities team members. Follows work orders and other tasks as assigned through completion and satisfactory follow up to end users.
  • Documents work in TMA System.
  • Displays considerable initiative and judgment involved in determining extent of repairs as may be required on all equipment and buildings selecting appropriate materials, utilizing the most effective methods, techniques and procedures when required to complete job assignments.
  • Cooperates with Facilities Leadership Team and other employees to maintain equipment, parts and supplies and makes recommendations to Facilities Leadership Team regarding desired changes in operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Keeps informed through periodicals, books, training seminars, on-the-job training and other sources and participates in approved training programs to further knowledge.
  • Coordinates work with contractors and vendors.

Other Functions

  • This position may be assigned specific tasks to address in an emergency to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of the UPH Emergency Incident Command System. Situations of a critical nature may require an individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.
  • Performs on-call duties during unscheduled working hours as assigned and can respond to emergency calls when necessary.
  • May be required to work any day of the week or any shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be self-directed and assume responsibility for timely completion of job responsibilities.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements

Education:


High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of a trade school course or trade apprenticeship program is desired but not mandatory.



Experience:


Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in industrial or commercial operations in the maintenance field.
Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques as applied to systems and equipment.

Hospital experience desirable but not mandatory


License(s)/Certification(s):


Must have a valid driver’s license 1st Class Engineer License

Additional licenses and certifications in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


Building maintenance operations, trade school or trade apprenticeship,



Other:


Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
