$18/hr

Position:

Regularly and customarily performs a variety of maintenance and janitorial tasks to keep the facilities and surrounding grounds well maintained. To work well in this role you should have a basic maintenance knowledge around building repairs and experience cleaning.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• General cleaning of the building to keep it maintained and in good condition
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming and waxing
• Service, clean and supply restrooms and locker rooms
• Perform minor repairs and projects
• Notify manager of any major repairs needed
• Collect and dispose of trash throughout premises
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage or injury
• Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets
• Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to manage time efficiently
• Work well without direct supervision
• Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies and tools
• Ability to read, analyze, write and perform basic math
• Ability to effectively follow direction and respond to questions form management
• Regularly works in indoor office environment and outdoors in the elements
• Required to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions

Education and Experience:

• 1+ years’ experience in similar role
• Experience with heavy duty cleaning machines and equipment
• Good knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

The employee is occasionally required to ascend and descend steps and ladders and position self in tight spaces.
