Scope of Position:

The Facilities Engineer Manager will be responsible for the implementation of all facilities & maintenance activities at the Corning West Technology Center CWTC. Encompasses construction, space utilization, scheduling of preventative maintenance, repair, and compliance with safety policies and regulations for buildings and grounds. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and efficient operations, repairs, and maintenance of facility are completed to company standards.
  • Develops criteria and performance specifications for facilities and equipment required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance plan.
  • Coordinate lab modifications and upgrades.
  • Coordinate projects with outside vendors and contractors supporting the Lab.
  • Manage capital and tenant improvement projects.

Required Skills:

  • Must have 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience.
  • Experience with building systems; such as HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, construction and fire protection.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/Cal OSHA/ISO14001 and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent time-management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts

Desired Skills:

  • BS Degree in Engineering
  • Understanding and able to troubleshoot office building BMS and operate and inspect Fire Life Safety systems
  • Knowledgeable in all areas of safety, including safety equipment, lock out tag out and hazardous material procedures.
  • Trade school and/or HVAC certification a plus.

The range for this position is $97,405 - $133,932. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
