Position Summary:

Seeking Charlevoix County 4-H Summer Program Aides who will provide guidance, support and leadership to youth in Charlevoix County 4-H summer programs.

Characteristic Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist youth in sports and fitness 4-H programs
• Teach youth proper techniques and skills in various sports activities
• Be a positive role model for youth
• Be able to communicate with youth, parents and/or guardians in an effective, friendly, courteous manner
• Complete duties assigned by supervisor
• Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues to supervisor
• Enforce all facility policies, rules and regulations
• Be punctual for shifts

Position Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call.

Desired Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry educational materials, equipment, etc. up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, knowledge, and use of appropriate approaches, skills and techniques, which reflect an understanding and awareness of social, cultural and economic diversity of the target population served.
• Demonstrated success in program development and delivery to diverse audiences/communities and proven ability in establishing and working with a diverse network of constituents and community members across race, color, gender, national origin, gender identity, religion, age, height, weight, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, veteran status, socioeconomic class, and other differences.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Other skills and/or physical abilities required to perform duties of the position.
